Egyptian author known for writing short stories and novels. He also contributed to many dictionaries and books on the Arabic language, such as "A Dictionary of Contemporary Arabic Verbs" and "The Linguistic Guide." He worked as an editor and writer for many Arab magazines. He received the State Appreciation Award in Literature from the Supreme Council of Culture in 2002.
