British children’s writer, born in 1960. She studied English literature and drama at the University of Exeter. After graduating, she worked in preparing and editing dictionaries and reference works, then specialized in children’s books of all kinds and subjects, including preschool books, picture books, mythology retellings, history books, dictionaries, and more. Her books have received many prestigious awards.
