An Egyptian painter and visual artist, a pioneer and renowned master recognized for his work in book and newspaper design and layout. He created many children’s books, both illustrating and authoring them, and also wrote about typographic design while producing caricatures. Throughout his career, he worked as an illustrator and designer for newspapers, magazines, books, and cultural publications for both children and adults in Egypt, the Arab world, and Europe.

He also contributed to founding several specialized magazines and publishing houses, such as Dar Al-Fata Al-Arabi in 1974. In addition, he established the Arab Experimental Workshop for Children’s Books and the Arab Graphic Center in 1976. His books have received numerous Egyptian, Arab, and international awards.
