Writer and illustrator who wrote and drew stories for children’s magazines and published many children’s books, most famously the "Boys and Girls of Our Country" series. He also wrote screenplays for animated films for children. He won the Suzanne Mubarak Award for Children’s Literature in 1996 for the book "My Book," the same award in 1998 for "A Day in Fatma’s Life," and the Suzanne Mubarak Appreciation Award for professionals in 2000 for "Henna, Daughter of Egyptian Nubia."
