Egyptian children’s writer, author, and translator. In her stories she is concerned with Egyptian identity and the Arabic language. She has written more than forty books for children. She won first prize for authorship in the Suzanne Mubarak Award for Children’s Literature for her book "The Amazing Recipe and Its Sisters." Her book "Stories of Luqman the Wise" won the gold medal for best book design at the Beirut International Book Fair in 2005, and "The Amazing Recipe" received a certificate of appreciation from IBBY in 2002. She also won the Etisalat Award in 2011.
