Egyptian academic and author. She earned an MRes in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (TAFL) and a PhD in Arabic Studies from the University of Leeds, and also obtained the CTAFL certificate from SOAS, University of London. She teaches Arabic at the University of Cambridge in the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. She is the founder of "Kalamna," a school for teaching Arabic to children in Britain and worldwide, and the author of "Arabic Writing in the Digital Age" and "The Kalamna Method for Teaching Arabic Phonics."
