Egyptian writer who writes for adults, young adults, and children. She graduated from the Faculty of Archaeology at Cairo University and has published many articles and stories in Egyptian and Arab magazines and newspapers. She has published three short-story collections and five novels, and has won several awards for her work, including the Katara Prize for the novel "The Homeland of the Back Pocket." She also published the children’s novel "The Enchanted Mango" and the YA novel "Trees Return to Dance" in 2014.
