Egyptian author and screenwriter who has published around forty books for children, young adults, and adults. Her book For One Simple Reason was shortlisted for the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children's Literature, and several of her books have won Egyptian and Arab literary awards. She has also conducted reading and storytelling sessions in Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Lebanon.

What Samar loves most about the world of childhood is its enduring ability to experience wonder. She believes that a good children's book should inspire that sense of wonder in its readers and encourage them to think and ask questions.
